Win tickets to Manukau Symphony Orchestra’s 2026 Family Concert

Manukau Symphony Orchestra’s Family Concerts have been a first step towards a lifelong love of classical music for many past audience members.

That’s why Wiri Licensing Trust is proud to be supporting the event again this year – and giving away four family passes!

The Family Concert 2026 – Myths and Monsters! will be held at Manukau’s Due Drop Centre on Sunday, 20 September. There are two one-hour shows – one at 2.30pm and the second at 5pm.

The concert celebrates the 25th anniversary of Howard Shore’s The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring Suite and promises to transport audiences into a world of imagination and adventure.

Don’t miss this joyful, interactive experience, designed to make orchestral music exciting and accessible for tamariki and their whānau.

Win one of four family passes!

We have two family passes for the 2.30pm show and two family passes for the 5pm show to give away. Each pass is for two adults and two children.

To be in to win, just like our Facebook post promoting the concert and follow Wiri Licensing Trust.

About the concert

Manukau Symphony Orchestra’s Family Concert 2026 – Myths and Monsters! is a journey to Middle-earth and beyond.

From Tchaikovsky’s dazzling Pezzo Capriccioso to Prokofiev’s dramatic Montagues and Capulets, the thrilling darkness of Mussorgsky’s Night on Bald Mountain, and the ghostly mischief of Saint-Saëns’ Danse Macabre, the concert brings legendary creatures and heroic tales to life through music.

The programme also features the premiere of Whirlpool for Two Percussionists and Orchestra by New Zealand composer David Hamilton, performed by the electrifying duo Double Shot.
