Rewarding the volunteers who keep our community strong

Volunteers are the heart of so many clubs and organisations in South Auckland.

Every week, thousands of people give their time, energy and skills to support local sports teams, community groups, cultural organisations and charities, helping make this a wonderful place to live, work and play.

At Wiri Licensing Trust, supporting our community is at the centre of everything we do. Through the profits generated by our venues — including at Woodside Bar, Dining and Functions, our flagship venue in Manukau — we can return funding back into the community through grants and initiatives that support local organisations.

That means when people enjoy a meal, drink or event at Woodside, they are also helping support the community groups who make South Auckland special.

But the real MVPs are the volunteers working hard every week to make a difference.

So we’ve created a simple way to say thank you.

Community organisations can now nominate their volunteers to receive a $20 voucher to enjoy at Woodside.

It’s a small gesture, but a chance to recognise the people who give so much of themselves to others.

To nominate a volunteer, simply fill in the form below with their details and a short explanation of why they deserve to be recognised for their efforts.

Organisations are welcome to nominate more than one volunteer — just submit a separate form for each person.

This initiative will run throughout the year, so you can nominate volunteers whenever someone in your organisation deserves a little extra appreciation.

Because when we recognise the people who give their time for others, we help strengthen the spirit that makes South Auckland such a special place to call home.
