Help us ensure every child wakes up to a little Christmas magic

Our flagship hospitality venue, Woodside Bar, Dining and Functions, is partnering with the Kindness Collective to collect Christmas gifts for families in need in South Auckland.

And we want to offer members of the community the chance to join the campaign!

There are two ways you can get involved:

  1. Bring a gift for a child aged up to 16 to put under the Christmas Tree at Woodside Bar, Dining and Functions, at 3 Ronwood Ave, Manukau. The gifts must be new – things like toys, board games, sports equipment and toiletries for teenagers are great. Get more gift ideas from the Kindness Collective’s 2025 Wish List. The team at Woodside will match every donated gift (up to 20) so get shopping!

  1. Donate to the cause via the Woodside Virtual Giving Tree – all the money raised will be used to buy Christmas gifts for local families.

Wiri Licensing Trust General Manager Kim Green says community is at the heart of everything the organisation does.

“We are dedicated to supporting and strengthening our local neighbourhoods. As part of our ongoing commitment to giving back, we’re excited to be joining the Kindness Collective’s Giving Tree campaign this year.

“The festive season should be a time of joy and connection, but we know that for many families in South Auckland, it can also be a time of real struggle. By joining this campaign, we want to help spread kindness and ensure that every child wakes up to a little bit of Christmas magic.”

The Kindness Collective was founded in 2013 as a behind-the-scenes community group on a mission to make Aotearoa a kinder place for all.

Through several nationwide programmes, the Collective provides essentials, moments of joy, care and connection to thousands of Kiwi families living in hardship every year.

In Auckland, it operates a Christmas Joy Store, New Zealand’s first social toy store, inviting referred parents and caregivers to choose gifts and treats they know their children will love, shopping off the shelves for free.

The Joy Store is in its fifth year and has delivered over 120,000 toys and 300,000 treats to children in need.
