The Wiri Licensing Trust presents Manukau Symphony Orchestra Family Concert 2025 had everything you could wish for in a live event: dedicated performers oozing talent and a terrific variety of repertoire.
Music Director Uwe Grodd says it was a joy to be in the audience for such an uplifting concert. The full house was held spellbound by the performers—from a remarkable 12-year-old soloist to seasoned professional aria singers.
“The orchestra, led by Brent Stewart, played their hearts out, clearly enjoying themselves, especially when the light show lifted the music for E.T. Being in the audience I loved taking a snapshot of society with grandparents cheering along their mokopuna or teenagers with their friends and whānau, all together enjoying the same experience.

“We are so thankful to the Wiri Licensing Trust and Woodside Bar & Restaurant for their support of this concert.”
Wiri Licensing Trust General Manager Kim Green says it was amazing to see the talent on stage—and how guidance from mentors elevated the performances even further.
“The crowd was full of different people and almost every seat was taken. I felt proud that the Wiri Licensing Trust could support such a great community event and help grow the arts in our area—there’s so much local talent out there.
“I also know how many hours go into planning events like this. The MSO Family Orchestra did an incredible job.”
