Making a difference for our migrant community

The process of moving to a new country is rarely straightforward – it’s a journey fraught with challenges that include understanding complex legal issues, adapting to a new culture and settling your family into new schools, jobs and communities.
The team from Professional Visa Solutions (PVS) has spent more than 10 years supporting migrants as they navigate new beginning in New Zealand.
We’re an immigration advisory firm that does a whole lot more than just help people get visas,” says PVS Managing Director Inder Singh.
PVS partners with people from all walks of life who are coming to New Zealand to work, study, join family or invest.
“What really sets us apart is that we don’t stop once the visas are approved. We help migrants settle in, make them New Zealand job-ready and even work on their English through our in-house language school, Target Language Academy.
“We support employers with HR and legal compliance too. We’re kind of like a one-stop shop for immigration, employment, and education support in New Zealand.”
Professional Visa Services is a valued member of the Wiri Licensing Trust’s commercial tenant community. Their premises at 639 Great South Road form part of the Trust’s wider commercial real estate portfolio, home to over 15 diverse tenants offering retail, hospitality, and community services across the Manukau, Wiri and Manurewa precinct. Revenue from these tenancies helps fund the Trust’s work to make our local area a better place to live, work and play.
Inder says moving his business to Manukau was one of the best decisions he has made.
“My first office was in Papatoetoe, then we moved to the Auckland CBD for five years before moving back to Manukau in 2023.
“South Auckland is incredibly diverse and full of hardworking migrant communities, which aligns perfectly with who we serve. Being based in Manukau allows us to be more accessible to our clients, many of whom live and work in this area. It’s helped us build stronger relationships and be present where we’re needed most.”
Inder says many of the firm’s clients are migrants who are incredibly driven but face real challenges—whether it’s figuring out complex visa pathways, dealing with language barriers, or simply understanding how employment and legal systems work in New Zealand.
“That’s where we step in. We don’t just give advice—we walk with them through the process. Whether it’s helping someone move from a student visa to a work visa or supporting an employer trying to do the right thing by their staff, we make sure they feel informed, supported, and confident. It’s that hands-on, personalised approach that really connects us with the community here.”
For Inder, being part of the community means showing up in meaningful ways—not just through the services PVS provides, but by backing local causes that make a real difference.
This month, PVS is joining Wiri Licensing Trust and Woodside Restaurant and Bar in getting behind the Middlemore Foundation’s Jammies for June initiative, which aims to warm up winter for 20,000 children, donating $500 to this great cause. The pyjamas will be gifted to children at Kidz First Hospital or those who attend one of the 76 primary schools supported by the Middlemore Foundation through the Mana Kidz School Health programme.
“We believe we’re part of the community too. We don’t just work here—we live here, our clients are here, and so are their families. When businesses genuinely invest in the people around them, it creates a ripple effect. Supporting local initiatives and backing causes that matter builds trust, connection, and a real sense of belonging. And honestly, when the community grows, we grow with it. That’s always been our mindset at PVS.”
That support is part of the firm’s commitment to making a difference in the lives of people in its community.
“A lot of people come to us feeling overwhelmed or unsure—especially with something as personal and life-changing as immigration. And then, to watch them go from that to securing their visa, settling into life here, getting a job, bringing their family over—it’s incredibly rewarding.
“It’s not just paperwork for us—it’s someone’s future, and being trusted to guide them through that journey is something we take a lot of pride in.”
